Three generators used for providing electricity to Haa Alif Atoll Ihavandhoo School have been completely burnt in a fire that broke out yesterday night. Head Master of Ihavandhoo School, Abdullah Samad said that a 14 KW generator and a 12 KW generator were completely burnt in the fire which broke out last night at about 3:45. Replying to a question raised by Miadhu Daily, Samad said that they do not yet know the reason for the incident. “Police are investigating the case. We have do not yet know the reason for the fire. We have been facing a lot of difficulties because there is no electricity in School, but whatever way we could, we are continuing studies,” He said. “Since Electricity is not provided in Ihavandhoo, there are lots of obstacles faced at the School and we were unable to call Education Ministry on this matter.” Police say that they are investigating the case.
